Easy steps for making spicy Amala or Awala supari
Ingredients
Gooseberry - 1
kg
Ajwain / Carom seed- 3
tablespoon
Cumin seeds- 1 tablespoon
Rock salt -2 tablespoon
Common salt -1 tablespoon
Ginger - 20 grams
Water - 2 cups
How
to make?
· Wash fresh 1 Kg. Gooseberry with tap
water and clean with kitchen towel.
· Take 2 cup water in a pressure cooker,
add 1 kg. Amala fruits in pressure cooker.
· Keep pressure cooker on cooking gas
Allow only 1 whisel, drain excess water.
· Make slits of gooseberry, make a slice
from it.
· Grind Ajwain, cumin seeds and Ginger in a mixer jar.
· Mix rock salt, common salt and paste
of Ajwain, Cumin seeds and Ginger in a slices in a steel container. Mix
thoroughly.
· Dry these slices for 4 days in
sunlight.
· Turn the slices around once or thrice
a day so that it gets exposed to sunlight uniformly, let it dry and cover by
net or thin cloth to avoid contamination from dust.
· Store in dry container.
· Enjoy the spicy, laxative Awala
supari as a mouth freshener rich in vitamin C.
